On Saturday we had a sweaty potluck picnic in Seoul forest, before having an even sweatier night out in Hongdae. I merrily purchased three 2-litre bottles of water as my ‘potluck’ contribution to the picnic, which I then (less merrily) carted along the 15 minute walk from the subway to the park in the blistering heat. Next time I will provide pocket tissues.
The heat and humidity in Korea right now is relentless. I heard -10 degrees was the average temperature in winter last year. Right now this is an exciting prospect. I’m particularly keen to re-discover what it feels like to wear dry clothing.
Another new experience this weekend came in the form of a Wii-bang which is, as you’d expect, a lot like a Norae-bang but instead of singing until your voice disappears, you play Nintendo Wii until you can no longer use your arms.
